Space frame ball joint is an important member of space frame structure system. It connects tubes with high strength bolt. The below picture show how it works. High-strength bolts are the most critical force components throughout the node, and its intensity level has to reach 8.8 or 10.9.
In China, the space frame ball joint shall follow the code of JG/T 10-2009. The full name of the code is “Bolted spherical node of space grid structures”. The traditional process machine is neither so efficient nor precise. With the development of technology, the new fully automatic processing machine comes into use. It makes the fabrication faster and saves cost, because it need less workers.
