West Pearl River Delta Transportation Center has a total investment of approximately RMB 4 billion and takes three years to complete. It has a total construction area of 254,500 square meters, including 54,500 square meters of station buildings. It has the characteristics of “station-city integration, three-dimensional transportation, novel design, and distinctive features”. It has 8 platforms and 20 lines, bringing together the existing Jiangzhan Railway, Guangzhou-Zhuhai Intercity Railway, Guangzhou-Zhuhai Railway, as well as the Shenjiang Railway under construction, the Zhuzhou-Zhaozhou Railway to be started, the planned Shenzhen-South High-speed Railway, and the Guangfo-Jiangsu-Zhuhai Intercity Railway. etc., with a maximum designed daily passenger volume of 71,500.
It covers an area of about 40,000 square meters and is about 250 meters deep. The main structure of Jiangmen Station has a large overall span, a high single-story height, and complex steel beam-column joints. Among them, the maximum length of a single span is 22 meters, the maximum erection height of a single-layer formwork is 10 meters, and there are up to 5 ways to install steel bars at a single beam-column node.
The “Tree of Life” is the hall of the transportation center. It has unique shapes, complex nodes, and large spans. Its overall weight reaches 1,500 tons.
